ARRONAX, is a high energy (70 MeV) and high intensity (2*375 µA) multi-particles cyclotron located in Nantes (France). Thanks to our dedicated vaults and hot-cell lines, regular high activity production runs are made using dedicated targetry developed in-house as well as original radiochemistry processes. Our facility produce GMP strontium-82 approved by the Food and Drug Administration as an Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients. Non-standard radionuclides for medical applications are also produce routinely: Copper-64 using (d,2n) reaction on Nickel-64, Astatine-211 using (alpha,2n). Other radionuclide like scandium-44 are produced on demand using deuteron beam. Developments are ongoing on Copper-67 and Germanium-68.
In 2017, two hot-cell lines have been put into operations for the production of sterile radiopharmaceutical for clinical trials. These lines can be use either arronax produced radionuclides or those produced in reactor like Lutetium-177. Several programs have been funded in 2017 and we expect the first patient to be injected in 2018 with a radiopharmaceuticlal produced at Arronax.
This paper will give an overview of our activity and recent developments.
